Forever Stamps

A classic expression of love for your holiday letters.

The story in the design

The infant Jesus reaches toward Mary as she holds him close, their faces turned toward one another. Her red garment brings warmth to the dark, intimate composition. This detail from Bachiacca’s Madonna and Child offers a traditional religious image for Christmas cards and personal seasonal correspondence.

One design per booklet, repeated across 20 self-adhesive Forever stamps.

About this Christmas issue

The design draws on Madonna and Child, an oil-and-gold painting on wood by the Italian Renaissance artist Bachiacca. Dating to the early 1520s, the work belongs to the Jack and Belle Linsky Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. USPS first issued this stamp design in 2018.
